With domestic violence case pending, California man arrested for killing a former romantic partner A 36-year-old Anaheim man, out on bond while a domestic violence case was pending, was charged Tuesday with murder in the death of an ex-girlfriend, Orange County court records show.Aaron Stevan Romo also faces an enhancement of a secondary offense committed while released from custody, court records show. 30 Woodside homes under 'Highly Recommended Evacuation' due to landslide (KRON) -- The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office reported a landslide on the 600 to 800 blocks of Patrol Road in Woodside impacting approximately 30 homes. The area is under a "Highly Recommended Evacuation" and the road has been shut down, officials said."If you live in this area, please pack your 'Go Bag,' with necessary essentials: insurance policy, pets, medications, a change of clothes, and LEAVE NOW," the sheriff's office tweeted. "Once the road gives out completely, residents in that area will not have access to emergency services." Officials said the evacuation location is to be determined. Stay updated on the latest Bay Area storm Edgewood Road just off of I-280 near Redwood City is also closed due to a landslide that happened overnight. Storm causes glass to fall from San Francisco high-rises SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Several reports of falling glass from San Francisco high-rise buildings have been confirmed due to Tuesday's powerful storm. The San Francisco Police Department confirmed reports of a window falling from Millenium Tower at 301 Mission Tuesday during the storm as well as damaged windows at the Salesforce Tower at 415 Mission. Germany arrests Syrian accused of joining Islamic State unit BERLIN (AP) — German authorities have arrested a Syrian man accused of belonging to a unit of the Islamic State group in his homeland that kidnapped and killed opponents, prosecutors said Wednesday.The man, identified only as Asmael K. in line with German privacy rules, was arrested in the western city of Essen on Monday. He is accused of membership in a foreign terrorist group.The suspect is accused of joining IS in Syria in late 2013, swearing a public oath of loyalty to the extremist group and belonging to an IS unit that “kidnapped and executed opposing fighters and otherwise unwanted people,” federal prosecutors said in a statement.They didn’t give further details on his alleged role in that group, or say when he came to Germany.A judge on Tuesday ordered him kept in custody pending a possible indictment.Source
