Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder sexually harassed a team employee and oversaw team executives who deliberately withheld millions of dollars in revenue from other clubs, and he has agreed to pay a $60 million fine, the league announced Thursday. The NFL released a 23-page report detailing the findings of an independent investigation into Snyder's conduct just minutes after its owners unanimously approved the sale of the Commanders to Josh Harris for a record $6.05 billion. The fine represents 1% of the sale price; Snyder bought the team, then known as the Redskins, for $800 million. The investigation was led by former Securities and Exchange Commission chair Mary Jo White and conducted by her law firm, Debevoise & Plimpton. The league had pledged to make the findings of the probe public.Investigators concluded that Washington withheld $11 million in revenue that should have been shared with other teams, an amount the report suggests may have been far greater. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- On Thursday, the Austin City Council approved a plan to bring back retired police officers to work special events, like Austin City Limits and the Austin Marathon, as the Austin Police Department faces a staffing crisis. Those officers will go through training and are required to have retired honorably, meaning they didn't leave under investigation, according to the council.“I think that we’re at a point with our staffing at the police department where we need all the help we can get,” Council Member Mackenzie Kelly said earlier this week, “and by creating a reserve police officer program, we will get additional officers who’ve previously worked for the department and are retired and able to assist with the staffing needs.” PREVIOUS STORY: Austin City Council to vote on creating ‘police reserve’ of retired officers for events It’s something even a co-founder of the Austin Justice Coalition, APD’s self-prescribed “harshest critic,” said he can get behind. All tempora...8 Cobleskill police officers resign over tax levy, mayor says

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Marlene and it's about swimming. Here's her email. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. I have great neighbors that often invite us over to use the pool on a hot day. It's very kind of them. Well, they went on vacation to Europe for two weeks, and the weather has been very humid. About two years ago they gave us the key to their fence because they were expecting a delivery and wanted us to open it up. We still have that key, and we're thinking of using it to go in the pool for a swim. We know they don't mind us swimming there because, as I said, they've invited us. So, do you think it's okay for me and the kids to just jump in to cool off while they're away? Let me know what you think? It's hot! Thanks.MarleneI admit, not proudly, that when we were kids, we would do this. Not my parents, just us kids. Everyone did back then. But these days....absolute...Rules have changed since Sean Payton’s 2006 “Junction Boys” training camp, but expect long, “intense” stretch ahead for Broncos

Roman Harper picked up the phone on a sweltering 2006 summer day and called home. The rookie’s first NFL training camp had just started and he wasn’t sure how he was going to make it through.“I don’t know if I want to do this anymore,” the New Orleans defensive back told his dad, listening on the other end of the line.“Just look at that check they just cut you,” the newly minted second-round pick’s father responded.Fair enough. But Harper, a central part of first-time head coach Sean Payton’s inaugural draft class, was just learning what he and the other Saints were in for.“We were in Jackson, Mississippi, it was hot every day, it didn’t rain, there was no days off,” Harper told The Post recently. “We were practicing at Millsaps College, where the facilities weren’t great. The turf field was like 114 degrees. It was melting cleats. We had to go uphill like 100 yards to another practice field or 150-200 yards to get to the down field. For rookies it was like a mile walk, the inc...U.S. Amateur Championship returns to historic Cherry Hills Country Club as chance for fans to see golf’s future superstars

CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE — Golf’s future superstars are coming to Colorado. The U.S. Amateur Championship returns to Cherry Hills Country Club next month, when local golf fans get a chance to get an up-close look at the PGA Tour’s household names of tomorrow. It will mark the third time the country’s oldest golf championship has come to Cherry Hills, where Phil Mickelson prevailed in 1990 and Steven Fox won in a dramatic playoff in 2012. Editor’s note: Tenth in a series previewing the Broncos’ position groups entering training camp. Today, safety. On the roster (seven): Kareem Jackson, P.J. Locke, Justin Simmons, JL Skinner, Caden Sterns, Delonte Hood, Delarrin Turner-Yell, Devon KeyHow many on the 53?: Four. Maybe five. Most impactful offseason move: Bringing back JacksonThe Broncos improved their depth in the secondary in May when they brought back Jackson on a one-year deal. His return gives the Broncos a dependable player who can be another veteran presence in the locker room. Despite Jackson being 35, he has proven he can still be a durable and productive player. Last season, he led the Broncos in defensive snaps (1,139) while recording the third-most tackles (94) in 17 games. Jackson has started in 61 games since 2019.Biggest question to answer in camp: Who takes the other starting safety job: Sterns or Jackson?Sterns has what it takes to start alongside Simmons.
