Palestinians: Israeli forces shoot, kill teen in West Bank RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — Israeli forces shot and killed a teenager in the occupied West Bank on Friday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. The shooting came during confrontations between Israeli forces and stone-throwing Palestinians in a village near the town of Bethlehem, according to Palestinian media reports. Child, 2 others injured after car crashes into daycare on South Side CHICAGO — Two adults and a four-year-old child were transported to a hospital after a minivan crashed into a daycare on the city's South side Friday morning. The Chicago Fire Department reported that a 34-year-old man was driving a Honda mini-van when he lost control and struck the daycare at the 200 block of West 79th Street Friday morning. Police said the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and a four-year-old boy who was also in the van was transported to Comer Children's Hospital for evaluation. 18-year-old fatally shot in Near South Side drive-by, ID’d A 39-year-old woman who was inside the daycare was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.There is no additional information at this time and WGN is actively following the incident. Percentage of teen girls considering, attempting suicide rose in second year of pandemic: CDC  (The Hill) - The percentage of teenage girls considering and attempting suicide rose in 2021, a sign of declining mental health during the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey found that 30 percent of female students in grades 9-12 seriously considered attempting suicide in 2021, up from 24.1 percent in 2019. The amount of teen girls who made a plan for suicide also rose from 19.9 to 23.6 percent, and the percentage who attempted suicide rose from 11 to 13.3 percent. The CDC conducts this survey every two years to poll young people on questions about topics such as sexual activity, substance use and mental health. The survey is based on data from 13,677 students from across the country in 2019 and 17,232 students in 2021. YMCA needs 1,000 volunteers, how you can help AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Greater Austin YMCA has set a big goal of recruiting 1,000 volunteers before the end of the year.“One of the cool things about volunteering at the ‘Y’ is that we have a variety of opportunities that meet whatever someone's particular need is,” said Sean Doles with the YMCA.Some opportunities include recruiting 500 youth sports coaches.“We have hundreds of teams throughout the year basketball, volleyball.
