(WXIN) - More than 1 million YETI coolers are being recalled over a risk involving the magnet-lined closures.The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall involves the YETI Hopper M30 Soft Cooler 1.0 and 2.0, Hopper M20 Soft Backpack Cooler and SideKick Dry Gear Case. (NEXSTAR) – An office chair sold at retailers owned by the TJX Companies, Inc., is being recalled amid reports that the back of the chair can detach while in use, posing a fall hazard.TJX is recalling approximately 81,700 of the office chairs, which were sold at U.S. locations of T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Homesense between June 2019 and December 2022, according to a notice published by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. DETROIT (AP) — General Motors is offering buyouts to most of its U.S. salaried workforce and some global executives in an effort to trim costs as it makes the transition to electric vehicles.The Detroit automaker wouldn't say how many workers it is targeting, but confirmed that the move is aimed at accelerating attrition to meet a previously announced goal of $2 billion in cost cuts by the end of next year. GM has about 58,000 salaried workers in the U.S.The company says the offers also are designed to avoid any possible firings at a later date.Offers will go to white-collar workers with at least five years of service, and global executives with who have been with the company at least two years.U.S. salaried workers are being offered one month of pay for every year of service, up to 12 months. TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A huge great white shark pinged off the coast of Florida this week, just before the state is expected to have an influx of spring breakers. The shark, named Maple, pinged southeast of St. George Island, Florida, in the Gulf of Mexico on Monday morning, according to OCEARCH's Global Shark Tracker. Pregnant wife of Florida pilot ‘devastated’ after plane crash kills husband, student OCEARCH reported that Maple measured 11 feet, 7 inches long, and weighed in at 1,264 pounds. "Over the past two seasons, Maple has spent much of her winter in the Gulf of Mexico," OCEARCH explained in a Facebook post. DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) — Dripping Springs ISD plans to purchase millions of dollars worth of portables to use as classrooms for the next few school years. This comes as the district deals with capacity issues as its student body continues to grow. According to the district, enrollment grew from roughly 4,500 to 8,500 students in the last decade. The district also expects enrollment to essentially double again, to 16,000, in the next decade.Dripping Springs ISD is looking at spending $1,533,742 for six portables for FY 2023-24. That would provide a total of 12 classrooms. Previous bond failingIn November, voters decided not to pass three bonds for Dripping Springs ISD. As a result, the district said it would look at several other ways to address growth and overcrowding, including more portable buildings.Since then, the district has called for a bond this May. FISHER COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A World War II veteran from Roby, Texas, has been identified 80 years after he was killed in action. Army Air Forces Tech Sgt. Frank C. Ferrel, 31, was officially accounted for January 10, 2023, after his remains were identified through DNA analysis. Sgt. Ferrel was aboard a B-24 Liberator bomber that was hit by enemy fire in Romania on August 1, 1943. His remains were buried in the Hero Section of the Civilian and Military Cemetery of Bolovan, Ploiesti, Prahova, Romania alongside more than 80 other unidentified veterans. Attempts to account for these veterans began in 2017.Sgt. Ferrel will be buried in Sylvester, Texas, at a yet-to-be-determined date. Read the full press release on Sgt. A Brooklyn Park man has been put on probation for five years for stabbing a Metro Transit driver repeatedly with a pen and screwdriver in downtown St. Paul in 2021.Brandon Tyler Collins (Courtesy of Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office)Brandon Tyler Collins, 24, was sentenced in Ramsey County District Court last week after pleading guilty to felony second-degree assault.According to the criminal complaint, Metro Transit and St. Paul police responded to Fifth and Minnesota streets about 5 a.m. Sept. 8 after a report that a bus driver was being assaulted.When officers arrived, they found Collins punching the 63-year-old driver with such violence that the officers had to wrestle Collins to the ground to get him to stop.The driver had multiple puncture wounds on his body and blood all over his clothing.
