HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Locally-owned McDonald’s restaurants will celebrate Memorial Day by offering free breakfast to military service members on May 29. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department responded to a crash that is currently impacting traffic in north Austin, the agency said on Twitter.Shortly before 3:30 p.m., APD said officers were at the scene of the crash in the 10400 block of North MoPac Expressway. All southbound lanes were shut down.According to the Texas Department of Transportation, Lanes 1-4 were all blocked, which includes the three main lanes and the shoulder.The crash was confirmed at approximately 2:52 p.m., according to TxDOT.This is a developing story. HUTTO, Texas (KXAN) — Economic leaders in Hutto said announcements on businesses coming to the area could be shared as soon as the end of this summer.Bob Farley, economic development director, said interest in Hutto has grown in recent months as support industries to the Samsung semiconductor plant in Taylor look to plant roots ahead of the plant's anticipated opening late next year.He said he is not at liberty to say what businesses could be coming to the area just yet but said that plans were in the works.Farley said economic developments also continue in the city's Co-Op District which most recently welcomed a new Top Notch Hamburgers location.He said several more restaurants are set to open their doors in the still-developing district within the next year."Our city manager has just finished some negotiations with the developer of the Co-op and so there are going to be some additional things happening over the course of the next nine months. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin announced the appointment of the new interim director of Police Oversight.According to a city memo, Gail McCant will fill the role beginning June 5.Interim City Manager Jesús Garza said McCant had more than 25 years of experience enforcing civil rights, human rights and employee rights. (NEWS10)---In a recent letter to the Governor, Catalina Cruz and Johnathan Rivera, two Assembly Democrats call on Hochul to use all SUNY dorms Statewide to provide shelter for migrants during the summer months. "We are looking at about 50,000 dormitory units that can house about 100,000 people for the next couple of months," said Assemblymember Cruz.Cruz said this would help in the meantime while a permanent solution is found. However, Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt has a different opinion. His conference recently introduced a bill that would prevent SUNY from housing migrants."Anyway you slice it, this is going to be disruptive to campus life," said Ortt. COBLESKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) --A 31-year-old Schoharie man is in custody following investigations into a report of an unwanted guest at a residence in Cobleskill. Police located the suspect, Roger S. Clark Jr. inside the home, which violated an active stay-away order of protection. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Police determined that Clark Jr. had stolen the vehicle that was parked on the driveway. Police say he had reportedly stolen the vehicle from a nearby business and operated it while impaired. The vehicle owner was unaware of the theft. Police notified the owner and returned the vehicle to them.Clark Jr. was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Driving While Impaired by Drugs, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law offenses.
