Ingredients:1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, thawed (cold)1/2 cup sugar4 tbs. unsalted butterpinch kosher salt3/4 cup blanched almond flour1 large egg1 1/2 tsp. almond extract1/2 cup sliced almondsconfectioners sugar for toppingMethod of Preparation:Defrost pastry dough according to package directions, but keep very cold to make it easier to work with.Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.Unfold the sheet of pastry and set on a rimmed baking sheet. OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) — Police in Mississippi have arrested a suspect in a shooting that left one person dead and six others injured at a restaurant during a Cinco de Mayo party. Ocean Springs police announced the arrest in a statement Saturday evening. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin said it was making progress in its staffing shortages, which have been higher than normal since the start of the pandemic. On Friday, the city said its vacancy rate is 15.3%—the lowest it has been since February 2022. Vacancies have dropped from 2,537 in January to 2,401 openings in April.
