COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A plane departing John Glenn International Airport had to return to the Columbus, Ohio, airport Sunday morning for an emergency landing. According to a release from the airport, the plane had a reported engine fire while in the air at around 8 a.m. The plane landed back at John Glenn safely. A passenger on the plane told Nexstar's WCMH it was an American Airlines flight that was heading to Phoenix. The passenger said the pilot reported a flock of geese flew into the engine, likely causing the fire. The passenger also said he and other people on the plane heard a loud clanking noise. (NEXSTAR) – When the pandemic hit, the line on the graph of ever-increasing home prices suddenly shot up to an even steeper trajectory. By 2022, at least 13 major U.S. cities had seen home values go up by more than 200% – i.e. triple – since 2000. But the past year has been different. As the Fed has worked to tamper inflation, interest rates have gone up (and up and up), and the over-asking bidding wars may have reached a ceasefire. What happened in those cities that saw their home prices triple in just about 20 years? Real estate brokerage Clever checked back on the data in 2023 and found that home prices in most of the major cities have been staying flat. In one city, they're even going down. It shot up to $1.4 million in 2022 – nearly quadrupling. But from 2022 to 2023, prices dropped by just a hair. (The Hill) – Many Americans are not excited about a potential rematch between President Biden and former President Trump, according to a new poll, with more respondents saying they feel “exhaustion” over the prospects than anything else.A 38 percent plurality of respondents reported they felt “exhaustion” over the idea of a rematch, according to the Yahoo News/YouGov poll. The other emotions that people said the rematch inspires are not much more positive, with 29 percent feeling "fear" and 23 percent "sadness and fear."Far fewer people felt positively about the potential of a rematch, with 23 percent reporting "hope," 8 percent saying they felt "pride" and 7 percent saying "gratitude."The poll shows a strong lack of enthusiasm about a Biden-Trump rematch, which, despite the lagging support, seems like one of the likeliest outcomes of the 2024 primary season. Trump held a strong lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and other Republicans in the new survey, with a 14-point lead ov...Weekend Break: Reclaimed Voices Art Show

(NEXSTAR) – You may have heard La Niña is over, and El Niño is getting ready to move in. It's one thing to understand what that means for our weather, but what do the words "El Niño" and "La Niña" even mean?Anyone who's taken even a week of Spanish class knows the terms literally translate into "the boy" and "the girl." But it's not immediately obvious what that has to do with climate patterns. The phenomenon's original name, El Niño de Navidad, gives us a few more answers. It was coined by South American fisherman in the 1600s who noticed the unusually warm waters in the Pacific that define an El Niño season, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration explains. They named the warm waters after Jesus, literally the "little boy of Christmas," because El Niño typically peaks in December, around Christmastime.
